Scrap-booking is a way of recording special events and memories that occur with ones family. It is a historical chronicle of each family members life. The format need not be fancy. in fact simple sometimes is better, but the choice is up to you. The following tips should get you on your way.
1)Gather as many photographs as you can and pick the most important ones for the book. Try to start as far back as you can and catch up to present day. You don't need to do this in one shot, but an organized, systematic approach is the best
2)Include commentary as to what the picture relates to. Times, places, people and events
3)Include souvenirs, programs, small momentos and pictures of heirlooms to add character and color to the book.
4)Make copies of the photographs and possibly of the scrapbook itself, to guard against damage or loss.
5)Protect the pages with a clear plastic acid-free pocket.
Although there are many other tips, these will be the main ones to follow for a successful project outcome. All you need to do is a little every once in a while, and before you know it, you'll have a family scrapbook that you'll treasure forever.
