Your wedding in a scrapbook becomes one of your most cherished possessions. It beautifully recreates that wonderful day for you each and every time you open it. You share it with your friends and family.
So what are the best tips to making a scrap book of your wedding? Planning in advance helps. If you can arrange to have additional copies of the photos made by the photographer then you have just saved yourself an extra step.
Next gather one of your invitations, wedding napkins and any other memorabilia that you would like to use in your book. Now that you have gathered the things that you already have for the book its time to go shopping.
While out getting your supplies remember that you don't have to buy everything at once. On this trip maybe get a few different papers and one or two scissors to cut different borders or shapes for the pictures. Also look at the embellishments available at the craft store for wedding scrap booking; I'm sure that you will find several items that you love.
Once you are ready to begin on you project make sure that you have acid free glue and papers to use for your scrap book. This will help you pictures to not age as fast as them normally might.
Now you are ready to lay out each event. To do this sort you pictures by a timeline, meaning that each event that happened for example your bachlorette party and the wedding shower. Then as you are getting ready for the wedding and the actual ceremony itself are separated out as well as the reception.
Once you have sorted everything by event it makes working with your project a lot easier. I store the events I am not working on in a Ziploc bag and use a Sharpie to label the outside of the bag.
Then I start by event and figure out what I want each page to look like. I lay out several different things until I find what I feel looks the best. I then cut any shapes that need to be cut and re-layout the page. Once I am satisfied that everything is right where it is suppose to be I start gluing and taping everything down.
There are a couple of ways to secure your pages when you are done with each one. The first is to use a page protector and the second is to use clear contact paper. However, if you use the contact paper practice first on non important things, as you don't want bubbles coming out in the middle of your pages.
