Adding words and quotes to your scrapbook pages can make them come alive. Words can lead the viewer to think about certain things that might not have come into their minds, and help them understand your feelings.
Using a poem that is dear to your can be the basis for a whole scrap-book page, if not a whole scrap-book. Choose the poem with care so that it isn't too long or too short. A long poem can overpower a scrap-book page, as the beauty is in the layout, colors and textures of the page as well as in the words.
Some spring pages can be enhanced by the addition of little words. Some spring words you might think of adding are:
Rebirth
Springtime
Lambs
Green shoots
New growth
Richness
First buds
Fresh
Blue skies
Twittering
Birdsong
Freshness
Some short phrases that you could use are:
No matter what changes take place in the world, or in me, nothing ever seems to disturb the face of spring.
E.B. White
A little madness in the Spring / Is wholesome even for the King.
Emily Dickinson
Come, gentle Spring! ethereal Mildness! come.
James Thomson
I thought that spring must last forevermore/ For I was young and loved, and it was May.
Vera Brittain
If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant. If we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.
Anne Bradstreet
Is it so small a thing/ To have enjoy'd the sun,/ To have lived light in the spring,/ To have loved, to have thought, to have done?
Matthew Arnold
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May.
William Shakespeare
Spring comes: the flowers learn their colored shapes.
Maria Konopnicka
You can find a long list of fabulous quotes at www.scrapbook.com/quotes/cat/3 9.html
You can also use some texts that aren't exactly poems, but are poetic all the same. If you find old books or magazines that talk about springtime, then these are suitable. I have found facsimile copies of old books to be particularly good, for example, copies of The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady are beautiful. If you find one in a charity shop that has some pages missing, then I think it is allowable to cut it up to use as scrap-booking fodder'.
Combine these quotes with fresh, spring colors and you'll have pages to be proud of!
