I have found a teriffic website for learning new stamping techniques. It is www.Learn2stamp.com For the record, I have nothing to do with this website; I just happened upon this site by accident and I have learned so many new things from it I can't tell enough people about this site! There are many many techniques on this site which you can learn and challenge yourself to use on your next cardmaking, scrapbooking project.

One of the techniques I learned from Learn2stamp which is my favorite, was Chalk Dragging. Below is my rendition of the chalk dragging technique as learned from this website.

You would begin, of course, cutting a white cardstock sheet to a standard card size 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.

Supplies needed:

Glue stick

Daubber or q-tip

White cardstock (2 sheets)

Decorative tip scissors

Heat gun

Stamp set of some sort

3-d Zots

Ribbon or other embellishment.

To begin you take a piece of cardstock as wide as your card you are creating. Cut the cardstock with a decorative tip scissors and lay it across the width of your card. Next take a glue stick and rub it across the card stock piece onto the card you are creating. Once the glue has been applied, take some chalk onto a q-tip or whatever little daubber you normally use and rub it along the glue stick glue on the card. The raised edges of the glue stick will help the chalk adhere to the card. Next take your heat gun and heat the glue for an added effect.

Continue this pattern until the card is covered with as much chalk as you desire. You can use two or more colors to add beauty/contrast to your card. Be sure to use a different strip for each color you use.

Once you have chalk dragged your card, take the heat gun one more time over the entire card

to make sure there is no loose chalk and shake the card to rid of any that did not adhere to the glue stick.

I have chalk dragged a card front and then added a die cut of some sort or stamped image of some sort with a 3-d Zot and ribbon to complete my card.

You can learn this technique further and others by visiting www.learn2stamp.com
