Sometimes there is just something missing
A great way to enhance any craft, from scrapbooking to card making to photo framing is to include titles, captions, sayings, phrases or quotes. Not only does this add meaning to a picture but it can be uplifting and express the emotions you had about a specific event in your life that you want to share or the message you want to get across.
Not only are these words or phrases good for expressing emotion, but they are made up of letters. So what? So let me tell you... Now a days, we have millions of fonts to use for lettering, which is another form of art. This means that letters can be used for decorative purposes. And with the right font connected to the right wording, color co-ordinated to match your work of art or picture, you can really nail it.
We use words for absolutely everything in our lives. Sometimes when we read something that really inspires us or that is really funny, we want to remember it forever, so that we can always feel inspired or have something to make us laugh and feel happy. That is why words are even used for decorative purposes on walls, windows, floors, and many more places in homes, offices, other buildings or even fabrics and clothing.
Now if you are anything like me, and words do not come naturally, then their are places to find good sayings that will save you a lot of time and effort trying to come up with our own. Sometimes we can use other people's titles or phrases and change them to make them our own, but it often is handy to have ideas to play with.
Here are some of the quotes and sayings I found that I thought I could use for my own purposes.
Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.
Mark Twain
This quote, as an example, I would like to use against a bathroom window. Where the words would be clear and the background frosted. I would use something like this that can remind me everyday to show kindness to others and be some form of inspiration to me, my family and anyone that enters our bathroom.
I did not ask to be a princess but if the crown fits...
This phrase I thought I could use for one of my daughter's pictures in a scrapbook or even in a photo frame.
We're not old people we're recycled teenagers!
This saying would go perfect with a picture with my mom and dad with their grey hair and old faces(just kidding, they still look great for their age)
Adults are just kids with money.
This phrase would go perfect with a picture of my husband and myself on a roller coaster. We can frame it and put it up on our lounge room wall for everyone to see that we are just like kids.
So hopefully you get the idea of what a little bit of wording can do for your artwork.
