Scrapbooking is admittidly my new favorite hobby. An expensive hobby at that. Browsing through the craft store I always pick out a handful of stuff and am always surprised at how much it cost as I'm exiting.
I found a great way to save money is to buy in bulk on e-bay. There are lots of wholesales of craft supplies that sell at discounted rates, and do combined shipping and have all sorts of deals. I have found things that I wanted on "Best Offer" deals and have been able to negotiate a price.
Another thing I found is Craigslist.com. A lot of users buy extra things and then need to unload them for cheap. Another great way to buy in bulk. Even if you get some things that you don't like or wouldn't use, you can just unload them the same way you got them to recover some of your money. Put together all of your extra things and sell that as a bulk package!
Also, a great way for holiday themed pages in your book is to wait about 2 weeks after the holiday. Then after that long go to the store to pick out your holiday items, they'll all be on sale. I picked up all my Easter page items for at least 25% each item, some 50%!
