- For one week, ONLY shop for your supplies, content and embellishments in the following places,

-Country and local auction houses, especially ones that have book and ephemera lots. They will have oodles of tray and box lots that would be perfect for scrapbookers, and serious antiques dealers won't bid very much if anything on a lot like this, so they're no competition. I'm sure not too many other scrappers will be there driving up the prices.

-I'm an auctioneer in the business for 25 years, trust me there's a lot of antique paper, buttons, beads, ribbons etc. at many country auctions.

-Call around to some antique shops ask them what they have that may be suitable for you.

- Yard and tag sales.

- Church and rummage sales.

- Anywhere that has an inventory, that is cumbersome as it grows will be glad to blow out merchandise.

-Follow the Yogi Berra theory: "Hit em where they ain't". Why only shop expensive craft and specialty stores that have a high demand for their products? It's easy and much more fun to shop "used venues" that have tons of interesting and unique scrapbook items, but very little market for them. Which of the two options do you think would sell cheaper? Which sounds more like a true treasure hunt? Which will inspire true creativity?

- Thanks for reading and good luck.
