Too often scrapbooking is seen as an expensive hobby. It doesn't have to be.
There are lots of ways to minimise your scrapbooking costs - personally I would much rather spend my money on quality supplies than have lots of cheap things that may damage my photos and the precious memories that go with them.
Some of the ways to minimise your costs are:
Keep your scraps - you will be surprised at what you can do with small bits of paper
Make use of shape makers and punches it is amazing how much a few well placed shapes can enhance your pages
Be organised invest in a good quality storage system without this it will cost you money as papers get crushed or bent or torn my folders have paid for themselves many times over in the past 2 years
Join a swap club often you don't want a whole pack of pink paper, but only a few sheets swap with a friend. The same applies with stickers lets face it, you only need a few stickers for each page and often end up with leftovers. You may not like all the stickers in a pack, but our tastes are different, so someone else may love the ones you hate.
Participate in workshops run by trained professionals at most of these, you pay a small price and get to use all their tools and equipment. Why pay for something you are not going to use all the time. I have heaps of customers who only come to workshops to punch and cut.
Pen work don't underestimate what you can do with pens. Pens can be used for lettering, doodling, enhancing and stippling. All of these techniques add unique perspective's to your albums.
These tips are enough to start saving you money.
Remember, it is about the photos not the decorations!
