These are a couple of ways that one can get started scrap booking.

1) Find a store that has mainly all the materials needed for making a scrapbook like A.C. Moore, or Staples.

2) Now first you would have to know what kind of paper you will need. In my case when my son was born I had paper that showed of little pictures of toys, bibs, and Whinny the Pooh cartoons. I also had paper with bubbles and ducks and soaps for when I took pictures of him in the bath.

3) Then you need to see how many pages you think you might have in your book. Sometimes a person might need more than one book but as long as you get one that holds about 20 pages you'll be alright.

4) Then you have to take plenty of pictures. Just as long as there what you want then you'll be fine. Cut them out in different shapes to give a different look to each page.

5) Also buy different other designs for the holidays like Christmas, Halloween, Easter, Thanksgiving, that sort of stuff. And of course Birthdays.

6) Then get to work. Before pasting things together see what they might look like with thumbtacks just to make sure it's how you want it.

7) It's also good to get others ideas from magazines, books, or the Internet. try different approaches.

8) Now it's time for show and tell. Don't be shy. This is the time the whole family will enjoy and then laughter, tears of happiness will fill the room.

I hope all this has helped a bit.
