Scrapped Clocks....

Clocks are used by everyone. Chances are, there aren't very many homes in this world that doesn't have at least one clock to display the current time. People put clocks in their living-room, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, den, dining-room, family-room, and even out of the hone at the office. Clocks range from all sizes, and serve it's purpose in all that we do in life. And because people need them, they make a great gift idea.

Scrapping clocks is actually not all that new to the scrapper's community. There are even a few kits out there which you can purchase to make your project even easier to make. These kits can be purchased at your local craft stores or scrap-booking stores. However, there are other ways to making clocks.

You can purchase the mechanisms for a clock in your local craft stores for just a few dollars. And apply it to a pre-made base; or build one from wood, slate, or other durable materials.

You can also purchase a clock from your local retail stores. This will require you to take the clock apart and then put it back together again. Usually these clocks are simply put together with screws, etc. However, you might want to double check if it can be done prior to your purchase, to save you any frustration, time, etc.

Once you have decided which way you want to go as far as the initial investment, your style of base, and so on; you can then prepare for the style of scrapbook materials that you want to use for the clock. Tip: Large 3 dimensional items used for scrap-booking are not recommended simply because the height of those items can get in the way of the clock hands rotation. Using all other flat items such as paper, stickers, rub-ons, die-cuts, your photos, and other flat items are best for this type of project.

Some ideas for clocks are, weddings, seasonal, remembrance, communion, family, juvenile, anniversaries, graduation, promotions, military, personal, etc. Just use your creative skills and put it to the test. In the end you will have a treasured item to give to a loved one, or keep for your own collection.
